For Art Brussels Šejla Kamerić is focussing on the upcoming twentieth anniversary of the siege of Sarajevo in 2012. The central piece of the black painted booth is Bosnian Girl, a large, black and white photograph. Bosnian Girl is one of the most important artworks reflecting the postwar situation in Eastern Europe. The self-portrait of the artist, sullied with graffitied insults from a Dutch soldier, depicts the manipulation of history, raising a range of issues regarding media representation.
