How does automation and artificial intelligence influence the working situation in an industrial city like Toyota, Japan? What are its effects on the human condition and what does labor mean to each individual personally? All these questions are discussed during an unusual gathering. Factory workers and car industry employees in Toyota come together, to discuss their personal experiences and expectations towards the future of labor, automation, and artificial intelligence. In addition to the discussion, imaginative utopian and dystopian aspects of the work are expressed through body movement, sound and performance. The workers extract movements from their daily working routines and transform them into a collective choreography. In an act of creativity, they experiment with acoustic instruments and create a reversed process of production by dismantling work clothes. By carefully cutting off piece after piece of cloth from each other’s bodies, they create playful yet intense moments of liberation. The work was developed in an experimental collaborative process by the artist and the participants.
