The Jalousie is a structure comprised of angled slats with window treatment. These architectural elements create a unidirectional gaze, both allow one to see out while remaining unseen. The work reflects the dynamics of control and surveillance of disciplinary architecture. Similar architectural elements are used for discrete observation in interrogation rooms, or protecting workers in an office building from the gaze of street-level passersby.
