QSL is a code used to confirm that a radio transmission has been successfully received. In 1927, the first successful overseas short wave radio transmission was made by PCJ in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The radio signal was received by the Republic of Indonesia which was, at the time of broadcast, a Dutch colony. The QSL project sends a radio signal from the Netherlands to this former colony using short wave radio in 2010. The transmission is received in Indonesia, recorded and sent back to the Netherlands. The message is repeatedly transmitted and retransmitted between Eindhoven and Indonesia until the signal becomes an abstraction.
