ABOUT US

Galerie Tanja Wagner was founded by Tanja Wagner in 2010 with the mission to broaden the visibility of art that challenges dated narratives, structures and hierarchies and offers a new vision and sensibility toward ourselves and society.

Our international program is based on a collaborative curatorial approach and an ambition to build an inclusive and gender balanced art market. Alongside this, we are particularly dedicated to contextualizing our exhibitions with artist talks, performances and thematic group exhibitions, to establish a sense of connectedness.

THE JOB

We are seeking a talented, well organized, art and people loving person with experience in the gallery business or art institution to support us in achieving the gallery‘s overall mission. The ideal candidate is a highly self-motivated individual who wants to grow with us and expand into sales, client relationship building, and overall management of the gallery.

Full time (38 hrs, Tue – Sat) starting February, 2022

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in the gallery business or art institution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills (German and English!) and the capacity to constantly manage with diplomacy and warmth
  • Coachable, willing to receive feedback and desire to grow in a fast-paced environment

The ability to:

  • Demonstrate leadership in previous positions; proven ability to manage projects, tasks and relationships
  • Organize and structure perfectly with particular attention to detail and the capacity to multitask under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Work independently, take initiative and be resourceful

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Communicating fluently in German and in English with artists, curators, visitors and press in person, over the phone and via email
  • Organize and support planning gallery exhibitions, external exhibitions and art fairs including loans, shipment and travel
  • Setting priorities and deadlines for the tasks above
  • Prepare sales offers and portfolios
  • Updating and maintaining our client data base and work archive (Artbutler)
  • Office programs Pages / Numbers / Keynote
  • Standard Apple programs Mail / iCal etc.
  • Supervising the gallery storage
  • Photoshop basics
